How I Became Super Productive In Less Time.
How I Became Super Productive In Less Time. Do you have a challenge in focusing on one task to completion? Distractions, dings, bings, bangs, SM noise, poor focus, restlessness etc…
Me too, for years I found it very hard to focus on one task to completion.
Today, it’s different, I can focus on one task to completion, and repeat it many times a day, with flow and focus.
How did I build this psychological muscle to do this?
In his book, Flow – Living at the Peak of Your Abilities, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi PhD, explains in depth about getting into the “Flow State”.
In the flow state we block out all distractions, bar the one thing we want to focus on and complete.
High-level athletes and business professionals use the flow state of being to access all their capabilities and achieve outstanding results.
To get into flow, I practice through a physical activity to build that psychological muscle strength, so when I’m in the office, I can focus on the task at hand to completion.
What I do is, during the day when I have a gap between clients, I take 30 min to use the pool on the rooftop of our office building and get into flow by swimming 16 laps.
Nonstop, focusing, breathing, consistently, flowing from one end of the pool to the other, building a state of flow.
This whole process from start to finish only takes 30 min, and gets me back into the office for the next client appointment, in a flow state.
Now I’m focused, in a flow state, ready to use all my available resources to serve my client.
The more I get into the flow state of swimming, the more I can replicate it in other areas of my life.
You can use any exercise or process to get you started in building your flow state, and then drop into it when required in all other areas of your life.
That’s just one way I’m able to be super productive in less time and achieve more positive results. Members of our Executive Coaching Service, achieve their best results while in the “flow state”. See what our members are saying about our Executive Coaching Service.
Read the book, Flow – Living at the Peak of Your Abilities, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi PhD, and you too can enjoy the flow state.
BTW – I’m 29 books in, ahead of schedule, to achieve my goal of reading 100 business books in 2024! I wrote a post about it which you can read here – Read 100 Books Goal 2024 – January Book List
