A Clear Path To Lesser Goals

clear path to lesser goalsA Clear Path To Lesser Goals

A clear path to lesser goals. Yesterday I posted a lovely quote from Robert Breault, and here it is again.

“We are kept from our goal, not because of obstacles, but by a clear path to lesser goals”

I’ve been thinking today about these lesser goals, what are they, and how do they stop us from achieving our Keystone goal?

I have a Keystone goal to create and develop more online coaching programs.

This is a goal I need to work on daily.

I had 2 tasks to complete today in relation to this goal.

I need to do these 2 tasks before any other tasks today.

Then as I’m about to sit down at my desk and do a solid 90 min on the first task a voice in my head said:

Before you start:

– Check your social media

– Send those 2 emails

– Reply to your text messages

– Do the dishes

– Finish watching the video

– Make a coffee before you start

– Clean your desk

And on it went…

If I did any or all of the small tasks before my 2 important Keystone goal tasks, that would be exactly what we call:

A CLEAR PATH TO LESSER GOALS

I caught myself just in time and stayed firm on my original decision to complete my 2 important tasks first.

After 2 x 90 min sessions, I was done and had 2 very creative sessions with awesome results.

If you follow the 80/20 rule, that’s 80% of my results for the day already completed.

Now I can go and enjoy the other 8 tasks that still need to be accomplished.

It’s so easy to get sidetracked and have a clear path to lesser goals.

We need to be conscious and aware of some of the tricks our mind gets up to during the day. A Coach can keep you accountable and focused on your most important goals.

These mind tricks are taking us away from realizing our true potential and the life we deserve to live and enjoy.

Let me know your questions, I’m always here.

  1. Excellent blog, and I enjoy reading it.

Yes, having many goals has stretched us too thin, ultimately driving us overworked and underutilized.
