I Love Talking Bank Accounts.
This morning I was travelling on a 90 minutes flight from HCMC to Bangkok in Thailand. I’m travelling on my own so naturally I’m thinking, “who will I be sitting next to in the plane today”?
You know what its like…Should I just say a polite hello and then get stuck in to my reading or could I start up a conversation and create a lovely 90 minutes experience for everyone?
I Love Talking Bank Accounts.
It’s interesting on planes as sometimes you could be sitting next to someone and you could very easily think that you don’t exist, you may have to pinch yourself to see if it is true.
Well… I arrived early at the airport, 6-30am, as I like to get there well before departure so I can enjoy the atmosphere of seeing people, hearing the happy conversations, enjoying the pleasant smells wafting from the café’s, coffee, specifically. It’s a wonderful feeling and experience.
Oh…Then there is the check in line and Immigration…I forgot about that…HuHu…
Today was a great day to practice mindfulness as I stood in the immigration line for 20 minutes and could focus on the sweat rolling down my back…
After 20 minutes of mindfulness I made it through into the airport and found a seat at one of the café’s upstairs. I ordered a coffee, sat down and then brought my focus and mindfulness off the sweat on my back onto my daily FB post.
Wrote the post, located a pic and bang…uploaded…complete for the day.
Oh quick…final boarding call for Vietnam Airlines VN601.
Gate 22, walking at my normal fast pace my mind wonders back to who I could be sitting next to this morning.
I arrive at gate 22 and notice no line and then I catch a glance of the bus waiting outside check in gate 22. “Wonderful”, I’m thinking to myself as it is another chance to practice some more mindfulness.
I was fortunate enough to find a seat on the bus so I could immediately check my FB post and see how many likes I have received so far. It’s been a whole 10 minutes since I posted it.
Ok, 2 likes, wooohoooo…
Now looking around the bus I’m still thinking “who will I have the pleasure of sitting next to in the plane”?
Wonderful, we arrive at the plane and now as I step out of the bus I know I will really enjoy the air-conditioning once I find my seat.
Quick decision…should I board from the front or back of the plane? Seat 17D. Lets board from the front. Good decision.
Walking up the stairs to the plane and as I find myself closer to the door I feel the breeze of the air-conditioning envelope my body.
Ok it looks like 17D is on the left side but can’t quiet see that far yet.
The line moves slowly as the people in front strategically place their belongings in the overhead lockers and get comfortable in their seats.
Then I spot the number 17D and as I look down at the seats you will never guess who I see…
