Installing Empowering Beliefs

“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t – you’re right.”
– Henry Ford.

Installing Empowering Beliefs. Imagine having a belief that is so empowering that nothing can stop you from actualising it!

These are the most empowering beliefs we want to have to ensure our purpose and mission become a reality.

We have already talked about in previous articles, Identify Your Limiting Beliefs and Overcome Your Limiting Beliefs. Please read these articles first if you still need to do so before you continue.

We want to replace our limiting beliefs with empowering beliefs because our beliefs are the main drivers of everything we do. We are limited only by our beliefs’ quality, depth, and variety.

Our beliefs are creating the world in which we live. Change your beliefs, change your world.

Definition of Empowering Beliefs.

Empowering beliefs are positive convictions or attitudes that enable individuals to feel confident, capable, and in control of their lives.

These beliefs support personal growth and achievement by fostering a mindset that embraces challenges, seeks opportunities, and maintains resilience in the face of adversity.

Empowering beliefs help individuals realize their potential and pursue their goals with determination and optimism.

Importance of Installing Empowering Beliefs.

We must install empowering beliefs as the rocket fuel for personal growth and development, realising our full potential.

Limiting beliefs are roadblocks that stop us from realising our full potential. That’s why implanting empowering beliefs into our subconscious mind is fundamental.

Remember, our conscious mind is the GOAL SETTER, and our subconscious mind is the GOAL GETTER.

Now, we will look at 3 steps to installing empowering beliefs.

3 Steps To Installing Empowering Beliefs

Step 1: Identify Desired Empowering Beliefs.

Once you have identified and exposed your limiting beliefs, you can very quickly work out the opposite of that limiting belief. What limiting beliefs did you discover from reading the previous articles?

Make a list of all of them. One by one, create an opposite, empowering belief to take its place.

For example:

  • Limiting belief: I’m unworthy and not enough.
  • Empowering belief: “I am worthy and more than enough. I have unique strengths and qualities that make me valuable and deserving of love and success.”

Converting your limiting beliefs to empowering beliefs is a great place to start. Our limiting beliefs are holding us back from our personal growth and development.

When we convert our limiting beliefs to empowering beliefs, we remove the roadblock to our future growth.

You will take one giant step forward if you convert all your limiting beliefs to empowering beliefs.

Step 2: Memorise, Visualise and Affirm.

A) Memorise:

Memorise your new empowering belief. You are now giving birth to a belief that will be part of your DNA. You need to nurture this new belief like your newborn child. Repeat it often and make it part of your new persona and future self.

B) Visualise:

In your mind’s eye, visualise yourself acting and behaving as your future self with this new belief. See yourself 100% in displaying your new empowering belief. Employ the five senses in your visualisation: sight, taste, feeling, smell, and hearing.

Make it as authentic as possible in your mind’s eye as if it were reality. Start with 5 minutes in the morning before getting out of bed and 5 minutes at night before you fall asleep.

What we do in private is what we are rewarded for in public.

C) Affirmations:

Repeat your memorised new empowering belief in your mind (self-talk) as a mantra. Repeat your new empowering belief out loud into the world. Let the energy of your new empowering belief flow from your mind and tongue into the world.

Take pen to paper and write your new empowering belief where you can see it.

The more familiar you become with your new empowering belief, the more natural it will feel. This is when the results start to show up.

Step 3: Seek Evidence & Role Models.

A) Gather Evidence:

Now that you have memorised your new empowering belief, are thinking about it, and are speaking it into the world, it’s time to gather evidence to support it.

What slight evidence can you look for to support your new empowering belief?

Observe your daily actions and find occasion to identify situations in which you are expressing your new empowering belief.

For example, I’m worthy, and more than enough may show up in your workplace as you interact with colleagues. You notice a sense of confidence and strength as you share your ideas.

When you receive praise, you accept it graciously instead of deflecting it.

Continue to look for, find, and gather as much evidence as possible to support your new empowering belief.

The more evidence you stack towards your empowering belief, the stronger it becomes.

B) Role Models:

Locate one, two, or three role models that embody your new empowering belief. Follow them, watch their every move and become familiar with how they express themselves, matching your empowering belief.

Model their thinking and behaviors that will support your new empowering belief. Walk, talk, smile, and become the embodiment of your new empowering belief.

When you practice this type of modelling, it will become part of you.

Bonus Step 4: Hypnotherapy

In the above 3 steps, we can install empowering beliefs into our subconscious through repetition. These practices can be done alone in the privacy of your home.

Hypnotherapy requires a skilled practitioner to install new empowering beliefs into the client’s subconscious mind.

Following is a case study of a client I worked with who used hypnotherapy during our coaching sessions.

CASE STUDY PETER – Identifying, Overcoming Limiting Beliefs and Installing Empowering Beliefs.

Peter (not his real name) came to see me a few years ago. Peter is a competent professional Executive working for a multinational company based in Vietnam.

He was doing well (could be doing better) in his career from an external perspective. Internally, it was a different story.

Peter was plagued with several negative thoughts and emotions.

Thoughts and emotions like:

  • I’m not good enough
  • Colleagues are judging me
  • Fear of failure
  • Low self-esteem / low confidence
  • Anxiety and worry

Further into our coaching sessions, we uncovered deep limiting beliefs from Peter’s childhood that were triggering negative thoughts and emotions.

Limiting beleifs like:

  • I’m not good enough
  • Don’t shine when you are successful
  • Be modest about your talents and achievements
  • Don’t stand out

These limiting beliefs were stopping Peter from excelling further in his career as an executive. He was conflicted (Internal Conflict – We have an NLP intervention to address internal conflicts) about creating success as a professional executive and living up to his childhood’s limiting beliefs.

These limiting beliefs also negatively impacted Peters’s personal life. Peter wanted to get married and have children. In his current state, Peter could not feel confident and worthy enough to attract, maintain, and enjoy a loving relationship.

His limiting beliefs were hampering his progress.

We worked together weekly for several months, identifying and overcoming Peter’s limiting beliefs. We dismantled his erroneous limiting beliefs through some very powerful NLP interventions (hypnotherapy, belief change intervention).

Then, we created powerful, empowering beliefs that would better serve Peter and his professional and personal goals.

Long story short.

While still working in Vietnam, you will be very happy to know that Peter met a lovely lady and married her. He has since moved to Europe and now has 2 wonderful children, and he is excelling in his career.

If Peter had not corrected his limiting beliefs and installed empowering beliefs, his life could have turned out entirely differently.

Conclusion:

Based on the three articles, Identify Your Limiting Beliefs, Overcome Your Limiting Beliefs, and this article, Installing Empowering Beliefs, we have all the theory and knowledge to revolutionise our beliefs.

Your next step is to take action. Unless you take action, everything will stay the same.

Could you go back through each article and do the work? I’m sure you can, can’t you?

One step at a time, one belief at a time. That’s how I did it!

The alternative is to book 1-3 sessions with me, and together, we can apply Hypnotherapy to overcome your limiting beliefs and install new empowering beliefs.

Either way, the work needs to be completed; once you do it, YOUR LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN.
