How To Shut Your Mind Up!

Incessant thoughts are driving you crazy, no more.

I just can’t stop these endless thoughts from going around and around and around in my head. Nothing specific but about everything. I’m going crazy. Just shut up and go away, now!

Maybe I’m the only one who has this problem, or am I?

I am so busy with work, busy managing my family and personal life. Some days I just don’t know if I’m Arthur or Martha. Anxiety is in a bull market and my negative reactions to life are speeding off a cliff.

Unable to make lasting decisions, into this and into that. It feels like I have lost my way. My physical health is deteriorating, obese. My relationships are shallow and combative. Struggling with finances.

Everyone wants a piece of me, and I don’t know which way to turn next. Getting desperate now, something needs to change before I crack!

20 Years Later

Like a wild stallion, fighting and resisting his trainer to be saddled up and tamed, I had a breakthrough.

Now enjoying and experiencing a completely different life, living in the same world.

I can now look out into the world and see the same good, bad, and ugly and my mind is tranquil and calm. Like a still pond with almost imperceptible ripples. The outside world of reality is not impacting the inner peace of my mind and soul anymore.

I’m no longer a puppet with my strings being violently tugged and pulled by this external world of reality. I am no longer a victim of my external environment.

When I arise in the morning, whatever news I hear, whatever challenges come my way, whatever the external world throws at me, I smile and say, YES, to the universe.

What a completely different experience it is.

As A Result

As a result of living in the same world differently, my life was transformed!

This is not a throw-away word, it was literally transformed.

My whole being transformed on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level.

My physical body is at its healthiest than it has ever been. My mind is tranquil and calm most of the time. My emotions have been reined in and within my control. Spiritually I have attended to the immaterial part of my being.

Working on all these 4 levels of my being was an integral part of the process.

What Was My Secret?

What was my secret to being able to change my life experience while continuing to live in the same world?

It was self-awareness!

I become more aware of my mind, like an unruly animal, I made a decision to tame it,  and started to develop its 6 higher faculties.

These 6 higher faculties are:

  1. Will
  2. Reason
  3. Imagination
  4. Intuition
  5. Memory
  6. Perception

Understanding and developing these 6 higher faculties in a positive way gave me the ability to respond, interact, and communicate more effectively with the external world, creating more positive outcomes.

I used 2 specific vehicles that allowed me to start the journey of taking control of my mind and mastering the proper use of its 6 higher faculties.

The lines in this article don’t allow me to elaborate further on these 6 higher faculties of our mind. Perhaps, if you are interested, in the future we can devote an article to each one?

Self-awareness was my starting point.

The executive clients with whom I coach will not escape my passion and teaching of awareness training (EQ) to be able to live fruitfully in the 21st century.
